In 2003, the founders of the Christian Crew designed our game servers and website around the idea that everyone playing online games should be able to do so without rampant profanity, pornography in-game or otherwise, and that Christians and non-Christians alike might like to play in a family friendly atmosphere.
As the Christian Crew grew, quite a few people who were not Christian began to enjoy the servers and the camaraderie of the community, and wanted to join.
The founder and leader of the community, Tykur, began a group called FoCC (Friends of Christian Crew) who were considered full members, were allowed full admin powers, and had their own place in the community, though this group was reserved for those who didn’t consider themselves Christians YET, were seeking but weren’t sure, or were just great friends who hadn’t decided on God at that time.
Over the course of years, FoCC changed into ACC (Allies of The Christian Crew), and at one point, a member of ACC even held a Council Position as ACC Liaison.
On January 1, 2009, ACC was disbanded from our community. Since the beginning of 2009, however, the Council has noticed a distinct lack of the types of conversations of witness, debates, and strong ministry (particularly on our forums) that we had prior to disbanding ACC.
Due to some thoughtful discussion, and a lot of consideration of this issue, the Christian Crew has now officially re-opened the application process for Allies of the Christian Crew.
What does this mean to you? Well, if you’re already a professed Christian member, but you have friends who are not who wouldn’t mind being a part of a fun and lively community, they can join you in CC! The difference in tags just shows that they are not a professed Christian. The ACC tag still means full membership, and we expect an ACC Members’ behavior and standards to be the same as ours in servers, forums, and TeamSpeak, but anyone who asks about the ACC tag will understand that this person respects and enjoys our server and community without being a professed Christian themselves.
We hope that the re-inclusion of ACC amongst us will spur new dialogue, stronger ministry and witnessing, and a reviving of our own fire as Christians as we ambassador to our new ACC members as we get to know them.
Anyone having specific questions about ACC not addressed here are more than welcome to PM any Council Member of Staff Member, or to ask questions in a forum thread that will be put together for this topic.
So, start inviting anyone you like to our community! Tell them WE ARE CHRISTIAN but it’s okay if they aren’t, as long as they want a clean, intelligent group to have fun playing games online with, and as long as they understand we just might witness to them and discuss God with them because we care and are commanded to do so!
Thanks everyone, for your time…
