Introduction Post

Hi everyone!

Most of you know me around here as Houdini. I’m a pretty weird person, but I’m the type who likes to blend into the background. It’s a weird combination.

My goal for this blog is multi-faceted.

  • I’m a female horticulturalist who loves nature and God. I fully believe that science and God not only are compatible, but are intertwined with one another. You can’t have science without God. It’s just not possible. He created everything, how can we study it without also studying Him? One of my goals is to bring light the challenges I face not only as a female is a historically male heavy field, but also as a Christian in a very secular industry.
  • Horticulture is the study of plants. I am an avid houseplant keeper, even in my extremely limited space and light. I love my houseplants. I hope to talk about them and feature them as often as I can.
  • My husband (Cabboge) and I are reptile breeders. We do not see any sin in caring for and loving snakes. They are as innocent as your cat or dog. They were created for a purpose in the environment and to hate on them is to hate on God’s design of nature. We are fascinated by the genetic variance God has put into these beautiful creatures and I hope to shed some light on their misunderstood habits and help people overcome their fears and apprehensions.
  • I am, of course, a gamer. I have found an amazing group of people with whom I have grown so very much over the last year. I hope to share some of my experiences in learning to trust people I’ve never seen face to face, but love as if they are my own family.

I hope to post on a regular basis, but we will see how this comes! I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!
