~.*.~ Yesterday I made only a few jumps before I found myself in one of the most beautiful parts of the galaxy that I’ve yet encountered. I decided to take a break for the rest of the day and enjoy the view.
~.*.~ Unfortunately, today I made very few interesting discoveries and mapped few worlds. I did, however, cross into the Inner Scutum-Centarus Arm. Amazing to think my journey thus far has been contained entirely within the Orion Spur.
~.*.~ The Skaudai Nebula remains my present destination. A mere 1600ly separate me from it. Only about 25 jumps with the help of a few neutron stars. I’m now about 10k ly from Sol, and 17k from Sag A*.
~.*.~ I’m debating diverting my attention even further from the center of the Galaxy to Colonia. It falls almost directly in line with my current trajectory, but will increase the length of my journey substantially. In fact, when I arrive at the nebula, the distance to Colonia will be about the same as the total distance I’ve traveled so far. Still, it’s an intriguing idea, and I’ve received communication from other commanders discussing the possibility of meeting up there. It’s been on my to-do list, perhaps I will. There’s still time to decide between now and the nebula.
